Trust-Based Relational Intervention: Empowering Principle

TBRI is an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention that is designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children. This interactive, 2-hour workshop will provide participants with an introduction to TBRI, Correcting, Empowering, and Connecting approach as developed by Dr. Karyn Purvis and Dr. David Cross.
Session 3: Empowering Principle

- Friday, May 1st, 9am – 11am CST
Session 3 Objectives:
- Identify techniques in each of the three principles to use with their children.
- Explore their family history and self-awareness as they relate to their parenting style.
- Identify changes to a child’s environment that may help reduce stress.
- Enhance understanding of how to interpret behavior and respond appropriately.
- Recognize the difference between “safety” and “felt safety” and the importance of the distinction.
