Trust-Based Relational Intervention: Empowering Principle

TBRI is an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention that is designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children. This interactive, 2-hour workshop will provide participants with an introduction to TBRI, Correcting, Empowering, and Connecting approach as developed by Dr. Karyn Purvis and Dr. David Cross.

Session 3: Empowering Principle

Available Session Dates:

  • Friday, March 13th, 9am – 11am CST
  • Monday, March 30th, 3pm – 5pm CST
  • Friday, May 1st, 9am – 11am CST

Session 3 Objectives:

  1. Identify techniques in each of the three principles to use with their children.
  2. Explore their family history and self-awareness as they relate to their parenting style.
  3. Identify changes to a child’s environment that may help reduce stress.
  4. Enhance understanding of how to interpret behavior and respond appropriately.
  5. Recognize the difference between “safety” and “felt safety” and the importance of the distinction.
