April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and CASA of Galveston County is raising awareness of the need for more dedicated members of the community to step up and become CASA volunteers, and help end child abuse and neglect, through supporting children and their families.
CASA volunteers, or Court Appointed Special Advocates, are everyday people from all walks of life who are recruited and specially trained to advocate for children in foster care and provide a consistent, reliable adult presence for them during a difficult time in their life.
If you see abuse, report it to 1 (800) 252-5400 or go to www.txabusehotline.org. If a child’s life is in danger, call 911.
Ways to Support Our Efforts:
Donate $25 and receive a CASA of Galveston County t-shirt! We encourage you to take a picture with your CASA of Galveston County shirt and tag us on our socials!
Sponsor a virtual pinwheel in support of Child Abuse Prevention Month! CASA of Galveston County served 250 children who experienced foster care due to abuse and/or neglect in 2025. Add your name/or other short message to a virtual blue pinwheel, and help us meet our goal, to recognize all 250 children who were affected by abuse and neglect. Join us for a Candlelight Vigil on April 7, 2026, at 6:30pm outside the Galveston County Justice Center (600 59th Street, Galveston) and shine a light for the children in our community that have experienced abuse and neglect. – Thank you to our community members for attending!
Join us for our Annual Passion for Fashion Style Show on April 24, 2026, from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Legacy Center 1804 69th St. Galveston.
