My name is Andrea Bailey and I became an advocate 3 years ago after I retired from UTMB with 30 years service as a Medical Laboratory Technician. I met another advocate named Tammy who asked if I had plans after I retired and if I liked kids. I was scared she wanted me to baby sit, but she put me on the road to advocate and I have loved it immensely. I fell in love with all the kids I’ve represented.
I work part-time at UTMB and teach religious education classes at St. Mary’s and sing in their choir. The rest of my time is filled with my husband, 2 daughters, granddaughter and dachshunds. Not necessarily in that order.
