Advocate Spotlight: Lynn

Hi, I’m Lynn Roelke. I was born and raised in Pennsylvania and moved to Texas in the 90’s. After raising our kids in Bryan/College Station my husband and I moved to Galveston a year and a half ago for him to take a position at Texas A&M Galveston. I’ve been a realtor for about 10 years and have enjoyed getting to explore Galveston.

I enjoy road trips and most things equine. While living in BCS a friend of mine was involved in CASA and it always interested me, but I felt like I needed to have the time to put into the commitment and I had been busy with my kid’s activities. I’m also an introvert so I wasn’t sure CASA would be a good fit for me. I do wish I would have signed up earlier! The training given to CASA volunteers is excellent. I’ve found myself asking my supervisor, Ricci, many questions and she’s always so helpful, as is everyone in the CASA of Galveston County program. I would definitely encourage anyone thinking of volunteering to do so!
